Put this date and weekend into your schedule. Fly-in, or drive in, just come on in and be a part of it. Our first big fly-in of Sept 2008 at the Field of Dreams was a great success, with 40 plus pilots and aircraft and families. Lots of none flying pilots showed, guests and visitors!
The 2009 fly-in just didn’t come together at the F 0 D as the size of the field was reduced very dramatically. I wasn’t ambitious enough to pursue another flying site.
Well this year 2010 the Field of Dreams is back and growing, with 30 acres of sod fescue grass. Runways: 2000 ft East/West 800 ft North/South. Looking good and ready for use.
We will have plenty of parking and we will have camping on site, (no utilities) a port-a-pot out house on site.
This year we will have guests sponsor, EAA Chapter 17 Drag-on Flyers. Chapter 17 is an Ultralight and light sport aircraft club in the Omaha and eastern Nebraska area. I am a member and have been for a long time, having run the gambit of flying Hang Gliders and Ultralight aircraft over the years I have kind of had push the PPG’s and PPC’s in to this group anyway. They have donated a $75.00 gift to the fly-in. This will be put toward the meats for the cooking. Thank you.
Plan for a BBQ Saturday evening
I am thinking maybe a bunch of grilling steaks as so to have enough to go around for the evening BBQ and also burgers & brats ~ remember to bring a potluck for side dish.
