Counting down the days to Oshkosh<\/h2>\n

AirVenture 2016 is quickly approaching! The world’s greatest aviation celebration will take place July 25-31, 2016. A number of Chapter 569 members have been attending this extraordinary event for many years. Tom Henry usually volunteers his time at the repair barn and you can often times find Dennis Crispin at campground registration in the 101 Woods area in Camp Scholler.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

About AirVenture<\/h2>\n

AirVenture takes place once a year around the end of July in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. EAA\u2019s renowed annual Airventure Fly-in Convention showcases in one week what EAA is involved in throughout the year. The event draws more than 500,000 people from over 60 different countries. Thousands of people fly-in their planes that they own and\/or have built themselves and share their experiences and expertise. <\/p>\n

AirVenture boasts forums, daily air shows, aerobatics, workshops, over 700 exhibitors, and much more. You can find many different types of aircraft—homebuilt, vintage, ultralights, to name a few—including some that are truly unique.<\/p>\n

As you can see, there is something for everyone at AirVenture.

Planning your experience<\/h2>\n

Make sure you download the AirVenture app<\/u><\/span><\/b><\/a>, which can help you find your way around. It also assists with planning which forums, exhibitors, and workshops you want to see. The app includes features like \u201cNear Me\u201d or \u201cHappening Now”. <\/p>\n

As the schedule takes shape for 2016, you will be able to find all of the latest information there, along with features that allow you to search keywords to help you plan your trip to the air show.<\/p>\n

All attendees were treated to spectacular weather on opening day in 2015.<\/p><\/div>\n

Weather & Safety<\/h2>\n

In recent years, the weather has cooperated and most days highs were in the low 80s. However, in 2012 opening day had a record high of 100 degrees. Be sure to pack sunscreen, take breaks, and stay hydrated.<\/p>\n

Weekly and daily rates are available for admissions. As an EAA member, you are able to bring one guest and get them in at the discounted price offered to EAA members. The daily price for an adult EAA member is $30; non-EAA member is $45. Discounts are available for students, and veteran\/active military members. Many people spend the week camping right next to their plane while at AirVenture.<\/p><\/div>\n

Where to stay<\/h2>\n

Many people choose to camp out on the campgrounds right there at AirVenture. Shower facilities and other accommodations are available. There are also reasonably priced dorms available in and around Oshkosh. Hotels are widely available in the area as well, however, you can expect to pay a premium price for a hotel in or close to Oshkosh during AirVenture.
