Chapter Road Trip to Safety Seminar

If you’re interested in brushing up on some of your safety skills, AOPA is hosting a free safety seminar on non-towered fields. The seminar will focus on several case studies of real-life accidents that occurred in a non-towered environment. The seminar will take place on Wednesday, April 12 at Bellevue West High School (1501 Thurston Avenue — Bellevue, NE 68123).  The seminar will be from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in the main cafeteria.  The seminar is free and no RSVP is required.

April Meeting — Tuesday, April 4

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, April 4. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be at the Duncan Aviation Engine Shop (5000 NW 44th Street — Lincoln, NE). Newcomers and folks interested in joining our chapter are always welcome at our meetings.

Ames Fly-In Breakfast — Saturday, April 8

There will be a fly-in (or drive-in) breakfast on Saturday, April 8 at Ames (AMW), Iowa. Breakfast will be served from 7 a.m. – 11 a.m. PIC eat free, adults $6, and $5 for kids 12 & under. There will be aircraft on display including a P-51 Mustang, a T-6 Texan, and a LifeFlight helicopter.  Airplane rides will be available for $20. Chili Fly-In — Saturday, April 1

There will be a Chili Fly-In on Saturday, April 1 at Greenfield (GFZ), Iowa. The event will take place at the Iowa Aviation Museum (located at the airport). “Hot” chili will be served from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.  The cost is $7.50 for adults and $4.00 for children under 12. “Chili-to-go” is also available.  If you have any questions, you can call the museum at 641-343-7184.

25th Annual NE State Fly-In — June 24

Congressman Sam Graves from Tarkio, MO performed an aerial demonstration in his P-40B Warhawk at the Nebraska State Fly-in in Hebron, NE on June 6, 2015.

Mark your calendars for the 2017 Nebraska State Fly-In, which will take place Saturday, June 24.

Norfolk Regional Airport (KOFK) will host the 25th annual event. EAA will host a fly-in breakfast, and there will be food and other vendors on field. The event will include an air show, along with ground displays, festivities, and various exhibits.
