Oshkosh 2011 is quickly approaching! The dates for EAA AirVenture Oshkosh this year are July 25-31. Opening day has a number of things to look forward to, including the afternoon airshow and Opening Day concert featuring REO Speedwagon. Full schedule of events and highlights for each day can be found at the AirVenture website by clicking here. For those of you who are not familiar with Oshkosh, it’s the World’s Greatest Aviation Celebration. EAA’s renowed annual Airventure Fly-in Convention showcases in one week what EAA is involved in throughout the year. At AirVenture, you will find a number of different aircraft at Oshkosh, including warbirds, vintage aircraft, homebuilts, ultralights, and more. There are a number of options for lodging while attending Oshkosh. On-site camping is offered, along with dormitories. EAA AirVenture’s website has some information here. If you are planning to stay at a hotel close to Oshkosh, you should plan on paying a premium-rate each night. However, if you are willing to stay a further distance from the air show, below are a few hotels that are reasonably close to AirVenture and are less than $100/night:
