Chapter Picnic a Success!

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Chapter Picnic; we had a very good turn-out!  Even though it was a little windy, there were still a number of people that were able to fly-in.  We also had some great food and a neat presentation by Dennis that made for a nice evening enjoyed by all!

Grass Strip Locally Discussion

We’ve had an ongoing discussion in our Chapter Forum about the topic of a grass strip locally.  Earlier this year, Chapter 569 member Tom Johnson mailed out some surveys, but the feedback was poor.  However, it seems there may be some renewed interest about this possibility.  The Chapter Forum is a great place for everyone to come together and share their thoughts and ideas about this.  Click on this link to go to the topic (it’s a 2 page discussion, click on “Next” to go to the next page of posts), then click on Post Reply to share your feedback.  If it’s your first time posting, you will need to register an account… but it’s easy and only takes a minute.

Reminder about Chapter Picnic

We hope everyone has a great Labor Day Weekend!  We look forward to seeing our members at our annual Chapter Picnic on Sunday, September 5th.  The Chapter 569 Picnic will be held at the Denton Airfield (NE40) — (Shoemaker Airfield – 11115 W Yankee Hill Rd). Plan to arrive at 4:30 pm; we will be eating around 5 pm. This is a “pot luck” affair so bring a covered dish. The club will furnish the meat, buns and soft drinks.  See you then!

York Breakfast Notice

Here’s a current NOTAM for the York airport in case you were planning to fly over for breakfast this Saturday.  Looks like a good excuse to land on the grass runway!  See you there.
