June Meeting — Tuesday, June 3

Our next Chapter Meeting will be Tuesday, June 3 at the Duncan Aviation Engine Shop (5000 NW 44th Street — Lincoln, NE). The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. Please do your best to attend this meeting! We have some important details to work out before the B-17 arrives. We need as many members there as possible so we can arrange volunteers for the various duties that we will have to perform. This will be a very important meeting, so please try to be there. Contact Keith Gomon at 402-766-4791 if you are able to help out with the B-17 that will be in Lincoln June 13-15.

Nebraska State Fly-In — Saturday, June 7

Make sure you have your calendars marked for the annual Nebraska State Fly-In! This year it will be at the York Airport on Saturday, June 7! It all starts at 8 a.m. with a pancake feed until 10:30 a.m. Young Eagle Rides will be from 8:30 a.m. – 11 a.m., followed by the air show from 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. There are a number of festivities that will be taking place, including skydivers, formation flying, static display airplanes, and helicopters. Performers in the air show include Harry Barr, Doug Roth, and Jessy Panzer. Click here for more information.

Central City Fly-in — Sunday, June 1

Central City Airport (07K) will be hosting a fly-in on Sunday, June 1. Breakfast will be from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fly-in’s eat free! For more information, call Don at 308-946-3450.

Helicopter Day — Saturday, May 31

The Strategic Air and Space Museum in Ashland is hosting a Helicopter Day and Indoor Airshow on Saturday, May 31. It all starts at 10 a.m. with a helicopter group landing. Please note that the entrance closes at 9:50 a.m., so you must arrive early! From 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., helicopter tours will be open to the public. You will be able to see the aircraft up close and visit with their pilots. The helicopters will begin departing at 1 p.m. The indoor airshow will take place from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Click here for more information.
