Annual Watermelon/BBQ Fly-In — Sunday, August 8th

The 23rd Annual Watermelon/BBQ Fly-In will be Sunday, August 8th in Queen City, Missouri.  The event will begin at 2:00 p.m. and takes place at the Applegate Airport.  All food is provided, so just bring your lawn chairs!  More information available by clicking here.

Annual Cowtown Fly-In — Saturday, August 7th

The 19th Annual Cowtown Fly-In will be Saturday, August 7th.  The event takes place in Ellsworth, Kansas at the Ellsworth Municipal Airport.  The pancake fly-in will start at 7:00 a.m. and the dedication of new airport facilities will begin at 10:00 a.m.  More information available at this link.

Just A Few More Days

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2010 will officially begin on Monday, July 26th and run through August 1st.  The Piper Cherokees, Beechcraft Bonanza, Cessna, Mooney, Stinson, and Comanche mass arrivals will take place Friday, July 23rd through Sunday, July 25th.  There will also be a few “Theatre in the Woods” events taking place over the weekend before the air show officially begins.   Click here to view the Daily Highlights on the AirVenture website.

New PPC Photos

A few new photos have been added to Tom Henry’s PPC Album in the Photo Gallery. The photos were taken by Tom Henry on July 15, flying from 5mi west of Lincoln to Seward and back. Special Olympics Airlift this Saturday

Cessna Citations from around the country are going to be arriving in Lincoln on Saturday, July 17th as part of the Special Olympics Airlift. More than 325 Citations are needed to transport 2,000 athletes. The primary airport that will be used is the Lincoln Municipal (LNK). A Cessna Citation will touch down every 60-90 seconds during a 15-hour period. Citations will deliver athletes on Saturday, July 17, 2010 and will return athletes on Saturday, July 24, 2010. Final Approach to Oshkosh
