EAA has a wide variety of Webinars (online seminars) coming up. Some of the topics include Aircraft Safety & Risk Management, Flying into EAA AirVenture Oshkoksh, How to Destroy Your Engine in One Minute, Loss of Control During Landings, and many more. Some of the Webinars qualify for credit in the FAA’s WINGS or AMT awards program. Additional information and registration details can be found here. Chapter Breakfast — Saturday, May 17


Our next Chapter Breakfast will be Saturday, May 17. Everyone is welcome to attend! Come and join us for some pancakes, omelets, plane talk, and more from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. at the Crete Airport (CEK). As always, it’s all you can eat — just bring your appetite and a $4 donation!

Volunteers are part of what make the breakfast possible each month. If you are interested in helping out with the breakfasts, even just occasionally, please call Andy Lahr at 402-840-5235. There are a number of different things we can use help with. Thank you!

May Meeting — Tuesday, May 6

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, May 6 at the Duncan Aviation Engine Shop (5000 NW 44th Street — Lincoln, NE) and will begin at 7:30 p.m.  Program will feature Wayne Woldt’s presentation of “Unmanned Aircraft Systems in Agriculture”, which will focus on his research and development on unmanned aircraft systems in agriculture and natural resources.  He will briefly review his aviation background, and then deliver a presentation on current research efforts.  Wayne will bring his Tempest unmanned aircraft system for demonstration at the meeting.  His presentation will include a review of the current legal status of unmanned aircraft systems, overview of research flights, autonomous navigation, sensor systems, and future directions.  Unmanned aircraft systems are in the news; be sure to come to the meeting and learn more about them.

Cirrus SR22 demo flights & presentation in North Platte — April 28-30

Gary Black, who is with Cirrus Aircraft Corporation and is a longtime EAA member, will be in North Platte offering an open house and demo flights between April 28th and April 30th at Trego Dugan Aviation. He will also be giving a presentation that was given to the Society of Experimental Test Pilots last year on how the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System was developed and tested. The presentation will be on Tuesday, April 29 at 6 p.m. at the Leo Johnson Conference Room at the North Platte Airport.
