Dues & Directory Info

Thank you to all of our members who have paid their dues so far for 2012. Here’s how it works: If you have filled out the registration/renewal form AND sent your money to our treasurer (Matt Olson), your name will have a checkmark on this list. If you still need to pay your 2012 dues, you can take care of that by clicking here. The list is current as of 2/1/2012.

We also appreciate those members who have filled out their information in our online directory system. The new directory can be found at http://eaa569.org/directory. Chapter 569 Members should have received an email with their login information, but if you are a Chapter 569 member and did not receive a username and password, click here. You need to login to view members’ profiles, and to fill out the information on your own profile. The chapter will save a lot of money if we just use the online directory and do not print out a directory for every member. Click here to read more about the new directory.

If you have any questions about dues or the directory, send an email to webmaster@eaa569.org.

Chapter Breakfast — Saturday, February 18

Our next Chapter Breakfast will take place on Saturday, February 18.  Everyone is welcome to join us for some great food, coffee, and plane talk.  As always, it’s all you can eat for just a $4 donation!  The breakfast takes place from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. at the Crete Airport (CEK).

We are in need of volunteers to help out with the breakfasts each month.  If you can help out in any way, even just occasionally, please contact Andy Lahr at 402-540-8014.  Thank you!

Upcoming Webinars

EAA is hosting some interesting upcoming Webinars, also known as web seminars. They are live multimedia presentations, designed to allow audience members to ask questions and participate in polls. Webinars incorporate audio and slides, making it informative and interactive. Registration is required, and space is limited. Some of the Webinars qualify for credit in the FAA’s WINGS or AMT awards program. For a listing of upcoming Webinars, and to register for them, click here.

David Backes, an NHL hockey player for the St. Louis Blues, made a 700 mile journey to rescue three dogs.  Backes flew with his wife and flight instructor from St. Louis to Houston.  Before he was an NHL star, Backes played hockey in the USHL for the Lincoln Stars here in Lincoln, Nebraska.    Along with his passion for hockey, Backes also has an appreciation for rescuing animals and flying.  According to his flight instructor, he’s well on his way to getting his license.  Click here to read the full article.
