May Meeting — Tuesday, May 7

Our next Chapter Meeting will be Tuesday, May 7 at 7 p.m. at the Nebraska State Patrol Aviation Support Hangar at the Lincoln Airport (East Side). Enter at Gate 25 (just west of North Park Rd & West Superior St).

Program to feature Retired Air Force Lt. Colonel Dick Trail. Dick lives in McCook, NE and is a flight instructor. He currently is a Nebraska DOT Aeronautics Commissioner. Dick was co-pilot of a KC-135 tanker on May 31, 1967, that was involved in the first tri-level refueling operation that saved six US Navy Jets from going down in enemy territory over North Vietnam. He was inducted into the Nebraska Aviation Hall of Fame in 2014.

Note: Our new meeting location, the Community Room on the 2nd floor at the LNK Terminal is not quite ready yet, thus our temporary meeting location at the NSP hangar. There is room for fly-ins to park, if you’re so inclined.

Chapter Breakfast — Saturday, April 20

Chapter 569 Breakfast Our next Chapter Breakfast will be Saturday, April 20 at the Crete Airport from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. Whether you fly-in or drive-in, we look forward to having you join us for another morning of hotcakes and camaraderie. Suggested $10 donation.

April Meeting — Tuesday, April 2

Our next Chapter Meeting will be Tuesday, April 2. Our meeting will be at the Duncan Aviation Engine Shop (5000 NW 44th Street — Lincoln, NE) and will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Program to feature Jon Vanderhoof. Jon is a member of the International Aerobatic Club 80 (IAC) and will share with us his aerobatic flying background. Jon flies a Pitts S-2A.

Note: IAC 80 will meet prior to the above meeting at 6:15 p.m. in the lunch room.

Also worth noting, this will be Chapter 569’s last meeting at Duncan Aviation. Beginning in May, we will meet in the Community Room, which is on the 2nd floor at the LNK Terminal. More to come. Stay tuned!
