October Meeting — Tuesday, October 3

Our next meeting is Tuesday, October 3. Program will feature the StarCare Air Ambulance crew, who have been providing air medical services to the Lincoln metropolitan area and southeastern Nebraska since
1989. Barring any calls, they are hoping to land across the street from our meeting place. Our meeting will be at the Duncan Aviation Engine Shop (5000 NW 44th Street — Lincoln, NE) and will begin at 7:30 p.m. Newcomers and folks interested in joining our chapter are always welcome at our meetings.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at our next Chapter Breakfast on Saturday, September 16. It will be at the Crete Airport (CEK) from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Everyone is invited to join us for some great food, plane talk, and camaraderie! Just bring your appetite and a $4 donation!

If you are interested in helping out with the breakfasts, even just occasionally, please contact Dave Fritz. His information is available on the Contacts page.

Chapter Picnic — Sunday, September 10

Picnic
Our annual Chapter Picnic will be Sunday, September 10 at Shoemaker Field. The address is 11215 W Yankee Hill Rd – Denton, NE (see directions below). Fly-ins, be sure to use CTAF 122.9. Plan to arrive at about 4 p.m.; we will eat around 5 p.m.

The picnic will take the place of the September meeting. Entertainment will include Oshkosh stories and pictures. This will be a pot luck affair.

Directions to the hangar at Shoemaker Airfield: From Denton Rd, south on SW 98th St then west on Yankee Hill Rd. Look for trains before crossing the tracks! Turn south at the Shoemaker Airfield sign and follow the long driveway to the “snazzy” hangar. Please be cautious if using a GPS as it may not accurately guide you; some systems incorrectly list Shoemaker Airfield as being in Lincoln — it is in Denton.
